"Eighteen wards of our grama panchayat are implementing Jalanidhi project for eradicating the long faced water scarcity. Being the ground water level is depleting yearly, ground water recharging and open well rainwater harvesting are the priority action. The project estimated for five crores can address the water issues completely, and we are proud to be part of this project.."

Because of the cost sharing and beneficiary participation set up, ambiguity is absent and more responsibility is there. New income sources were opened by the micro professional trainings im­parted by the project. With necessary modifications, Jalanidhi project may be implemented in all panchayats of Kerala.."

By the implementation of Jalanidhi project, the beneficiaries are able to resolve water issues by sharing a marginal contribution. Fund in aid for latrines and sanitation programs, helped in promoting total sanitation of the panchayat. Jalanidhi did well in Panancheri.

We have 37 beneficiary groups, 1495 families with 30 schemes, three schools with 1274 students, and 123 rainwater-harvesting schemes. We addressed the water issues by the help of Jalanidhi.The project is very effective and we expect a follow on project in addition.

In March 2003, we joined with the project. We have 25 beneficiary groups and 1172 families. By the effective implementation of the project, we are able to attain significant achievements in water and sanitation sectors. The project made comprehensive developments in the panchayat. Jalanidhi is a pioneer project, and we wish all success to the project.

Comparing with Swajjaldhara and Water Authority schemes, Jalanidhi project is more transparent and participatory. It is much different than any other projects of the state. Jalanidhi ensures equality and social justice. This project is to be implemented in all panchayats of the state.

About 1380 families of our panchayat, are beneficiaries of Jalanidhi. Sanitation sector is the key achievement area of the project. The behavioral changes made by Jalanidhi are effective and sustainable. We are lucky to be a part of this project and we wish all success for the project

1316 families are getting water at their houses. All beneficiary groups are active .All schemes are running successfully. We want the follow on project for, improving the sources, to include more areas and households, to undertake other schemes which are pending, to improve water quality, and to coordinate the beneficiary group functions. We consider the extension of the project is most inevitable.
