THE
PROJECT DESIGN
The overall
is to assist the Government of Kerala in improving the quality of
rural water supply and environmental sanitation service delivery
to achieve sustainability of investments. Specific project development
objectives would be to:
- demonstrate
the viability of cost- recovery and institutional reforms by developing,
testing and implementing the new service delivery model on a pilot
basis,
- build the
State's capacity in improved sector management in order to scale
up the new decentralised service delivery model statewide
This will assist
the Govt. of Kerala in furthering its sector - related goal of increasing
the access of Kerala's rural population, particularly the poor and
the socially disadvantaged groups, to drinking water supply and
environmental sanitation services.
